The Wailers - Nash & Sims Demos (1968)

Em finais de 1967, Bunny foi preso por posse de maconha e enviado para a prisão durante 14 meses. Pouco depois, no início de 1968, Peter Tosh também foi para atrás das grades, sendo preso em uma manifestação anti-Rhodésia para o cantor / produtor Prince Buster.
Bob também não escapou das grades. Também em 1968, Bob estava dirigindo seu recém-adquirido Hillman Minx de segunda mão em Kingston, quando ele deixou o seu passageiro, Mortimer Planner, tomar o controle da direção. Planner não tinha carteira de habilitação, por isso, quando foram parados pela polícia, ambos foram presos e passaram a noite na cadeia.
Foi Mortimer Planner que apresentou Bob a Danny Sims, um jamaicano com base americana que promoveu concertos ao longo de todo o Caribe. Sims também foi o gerente de Johnny Nash, uma força expressiva, cantor texano que tinha beneficiado vários hit (singles) nos Estados. Ambos Sims e Nash foram altamente impressionados com músicas de Bob e ele convencido a assinar um editorial com a empresa de Sims, Cayman Music.
Sims também permitiram que os Wailers gravassem livremente com outros produtores, dando-lhes o melhor de dois mundos - se para os seus registos não conseguiram vender, eles poderão contar sempre com o dinheiro dos Sims. Os Wailers gravarão uma série de fitas demo para Sims, remaking versões de "Put It On'',' Nice Time" e até mesmo uma versão de "'I'm Still Waiting'', reformulados como' 'I'm Still Wailing'".
Até o momento os Wailers consistiam em Bob, Peter e Bunny, que tinha acabado de ser libertado de Richmond Prison Farm. Rita iria adicionar harmonias as gravações feitas para os Sims, mas nenhuma destas demonstrações foram liberadas até aquele momento. No início da Primavera de 1969, os Wailers, produzidos por Leslie Kong, que já havia produzido Bob em suas primeiras gravações, em Beverleys Records e aproduziu o hit No.1 jamaicano na Grã-Bretanha junto com Desmond Dekker's 'Israelites'.

 No momento em que se celebraram vinte anos após a morte de Bob Marley (a 11 de Maio de 1981) surgiram as reedições da obra completa do cantor jamaicano com e sem Wailers. Deste modo, nos próximos anos a Universal Music irá editar dezoito álbuns de Bob Marley, com uma nova embalagem, temas extra, fotos adicionais e pequenas notas. Catch a Fire é o primeiro desta iniciativa.

Terceiro álbum da carreira de Marley e os Wailers, Catch a Fire foi lançado em 1973. Esta Deluxe Edition deste ano, possui a mais valia de ser um duplo CD, que contém uma versão remasterizada digitalmente a partir das gravações originais e uma outra com álbum que foi lançado há quase três décadas.
